Opportunities to volunteering
The ReDI School courses in NRW will begin in September 2020 with a 12 hours introduction to cyber safety and ethics, which will be followed by the first semester of courses. At ReDI School, we want to develop our courses hand in hand with our volunteer teachers and we are looking forward to listening to your innovative ideas! Each semester will be followed by a feedback session from volunteer teachers in order to incrementally better the courses.
Other ways to volunteer
Volunteers who can serve as mentors for our students, by providing personalised meetings once a month for a period of 6 months minimum.
HR experts who can provide ad hoc coaching sessions for our students.
Corporate ambassadors who can promote the work of ReDI School inside their organization, and facilitate interviews for internships and jobs for our students and alumni.
The courses at ReDI School will take place over 4 months at a time, with 2 lessons per week. Volunteer teachers will be organized in teams, so they have more flexibility. As a volunteer teacher at ReDI School, you should be able to set aside one evening per week, for 2 hours of preparation and coordination followed by 2 hours of classes.
What our volunteers say:
“The energizing appreciation our students give back. Seeing the "a-ha" spark in a student's eye the exact moment he wrote his first line of code.”
“My most favorite moment was to see the students presenting their final project and saw their development from zero to be able to present in confidence what they have learned during the course.”
“Teaching and interacting with so many bright and motivated people is such an amazing and fulfilling experience!”
“ReDI school is my second home”
“The students have impacted me way more than I have impacted them. The ReDI community is truly special. I love being able to help others have the same opportunities that I have had.”
“I love teaching at ReDI! Everyone pulls in the same direction: the students, teachers, the ReDI team and the sponsors. Is great to be a part of that!”
“The best moment in class is when empowerment happens: your students suddenly teach each other and you as a teacher become superfluous.”
