What is Coding Camp?

The ReDI Kids Coding Camp is a seasonal program hosted during official school holidays (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall). We run interactive 3-hour workshops where children and teenagers discover technology in a fun, creative, and hands-on way.

We welcome young learners between 8 and 15 years old with all skill levels to join up to 2 free workshops, depending on our schedule and your availability. It’s a great opportunity to try something new in an encouraging environment that sparks curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.

  • We offer a variety of workshops with a strong focus on AI - exploring how to use AI responsibly, understanding AI ethics, and having fun creating music, art, or animations with technology. Workshop offerings vary from camp to camp, and you will receive the full schedule after you have applied.

    You can typically expect:

AI Ethics & Awareness: Learn everything you need to know before diving into AI.
AI Creative Lab: Create your own stories, music, art, or games using AI tools.
AI App for Super Heroes: Learn how to use AI for good and create an app to help people.
Build your own AI Tutor: Create a clever, safe, and playful AI tutor, while exploring how AI really works.
Minecraft Coding: Use block coding to build and modify your own Minecraft world.
Ozobot: Learn to control and program small robots using colours and codes.
Arduino: Program simple electronic circuits and sensors.
Unity: Bring characters, worlds, and game ideas to life using real game-development tools.

  • Who can attend?

All children and teenagers aged 8–15. Please ensure the selected workshop fits their age group.

    How much does it cost?

All workshops are free of charge.

Where is the Coding Camp held?

All workshops take place onsite (in Friedrichshain). Location details will be shared in your confirmation email.

    What should students bring?

A water bottle, some snacks, and a curious mind!

Do students need to bring a laptop?

No, all laptops & materials are provided by us.

What if my child is ill?

If your child is unwell, please keep them at home and notify us by email at kids@redi-school.org, ideally 24 hours before the workshop.

Who teaches the ReDI-Kids workshops, and what support can you offer my child?

At ReDI-Kids, our workshops are led by dedicated volunteer tech professionals who teach in an informal, hands-on learning environment. We aim to create a space where every child feels welcome, encouraged, and safe to explore technology and creativity.

We understand that every child is unique, and we’re happy to make reasonable adjustments where possible to support different learning needs. However, as a volunteer-led education program, there are some important limitations:

    • We cannot guarantee 1:1 supervision

    • We are not equipped to provide therapeutic or medical support

    • We must always prioritise the safety and learning of the entire group

To help us assess whether we can support your child in the best way possible, we encourage you to contact us at kids@redi-school.org before submitting your application. This allows us to understand your child’s needs and check whether our current resources can offer the right environment for a positive and successful experience.
