When your corporate guest wants to become a student, you know you’re doing something right! 🤩
This fall, we had the honour of welcoming the Micron Gives / Micron Foundation team to our ReDI School campus in Munich - a visit filled with meaningful conversations, shared learning, and inspiring student stories.
For more than 18 months, Micron has been a committed partner to our Digital Literacy Program (DLP) in Munich. Their support has gone far beyond financial contributions:
Strengthening our career development track by integrating job fair visits, company tours, and skills-building activities into our offering
Dedicated Micron employees who volunteer as mentors, guiding learners through CV checks, interview practice, and job search support
Generous in-kind donations, including office furniture, high-quality classroom screens, and professionally refurbished laptops for our students
We were delighted to host Rosita Najmi, Antara Lahiri, and Douglas Pena from the Micron Foundation, as well as Markus Balb, Managing Director of Micron Germany, Ralf Ebert, and Sven Piatkowski, both Micron Gives Ambassadors. Together, we explored our newly expanded learning spaces, shared insights into ReDI’s mission, and discussed how we are updating our curriculum — especially with new AI-focused modules co-created with industry partners.
A special highlight: Antara Lahiri even joined our Intro to UX & UI Design class - and loved it so much, she wanted to stay for the whole course! Our volunteer teachers, experts in their fields during the day, share both their knowledge and their passion in the evenings or on Saturdays with our students - and that makes a real difference.
We also hosted a roundtable with four women from our Digital Literacy Program who shared their journeys:
An electrical engineer and mother from Uganda who found her way back into learning thanks to ReDI’s childcare support.
An economist from Ukraine who arrived in Germany with her teenage child and recently started her career at the Chamber of Commerce in Munich (IHK), proudly building a professional future in Germany.
A learner from Nigeria who, step by step, built her digital skills - from not knowing how to turn on a computer to now confidently advancing into our “Intro to Coding” course. She has made a huge leap in her digital empowerment and is determined to continue upskilling and creating new career opportunities for herself.
Their resilience, courage, and determination deeply moved our guests from the US, Singapore, and Munich. Moments like these remind us why we do this work - and how partnerships grounded in trust and shared purpose can change lives.
A heartfelt thank you to the Micron Foundation and Micron team for walking this journey with us! Together, we are helping individuals build confidence, skills, and meaningful careers in Germany. 💛
