ReDI Career Track: User-Centered Design
Course Overview
AI & Digital Product Design equips you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to enter the field of UI Design and further implementation for Digital Product Design and implementation with AI tools. Through a series of engaging lectures and hands-on exercises across 12 sessions, you will learn how to develop modern mobile and desktop applications using advanced AI tools to optimise your workflow. This includes understanding user needs, sketching early concepts, building advanced prototypes, and designing smart, AI-powered features. By the end of the course, you will have hands-on experience using Figma and a portfolio project to showcase your skills

In this course, you will master:
Design Thinking: Understanding the user and their needs. How to research user problems, map out user journeys, and apply the "Double Diamond" framework (Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver) to discover and solve real needs.
Figma Fundamentals: Become confident using Figma to create responsive components, build design systems, auto-layout, wireframes and produce interactive prototypes.
AI-Assisted Workflow: AI will be used as a design workflow tool: prompting design and research, allowing for rapid brainstorming, analysing and summarising of research data, and generating visual assets and design text. Second, AI will be incorporated into the products that are designed. Third, AI tools inside Figma.
Visual & Inclusive Design: The rules of typography, colour theory, accessibility standards (making design friendly for everyone), and the EU AI Act.
Smart Interfaces: How to design user interfaces specifically for AI features, including text-based chatbots and dynamic layouts.
Prototyping: Making Your Design Feel Real

You identify as: A woman or nonbinary
You have a high level in English: Ensuring you can understand and engage with course materials.
You are digitally comfortable: You have a basic understanding of digital tools and technologies.
You have a high interest in: User Interface, designs and are passionate about creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs with design tools like Figma.
You can commit: Commit to attending classes regularly and participating actively to at least 10 out of 12 classes.
