Course Overview

This course provides an introduction to User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design. You will learn about the fundamentals of UX and UI design, including design principles, design thinking, user research, prototyping, and user testing. Through hands-on exercises and a final project, you will gain practical skills and experience designing digital products that are intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly.

    • Apply fundamental design principles, such as typography, color theory, and layout, to create effective and engaging digital products

    • Use a variety of design tools and techniques (e.g. wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing) to design and iterate on digital products.

    • Conduct user research, identify user needs and goals, and use that information to guide design decisions

    • Job Readiness: Soft skills through career trainings geared towards preparing you for job applications & interviews, networking events and job fairs.

    • You will learn from experts in the industry to start a career in tech.

    • You speak English

    • You can commit to at least 10 hours a week (classes + self-study)

    • You are interested in exploring design and are open-minded about getting feedback on your work

    • You have a basic understanding of how to use computers, like working with files and documents, the internet, emails etc.

  • You can continue on the Web Design track. The next course is UX / UI Design Intermediate. This course may not be offered each semester.
