Course Overview

BECOME AN IT/ CLOUD PRACTITIONER

We are ever more a connected world, with our data traversing networks across the Internet. Where does the data go? Where is it stored? What is a cloud? How secure is it all? 

This course provides you with a solid foundation of Microsoft Azure cloud services, cloud concepts, Azure workloads, security and privacy. 

  • 1. Introduction

    • Intro to Cloud, Azure

    • Intro to Computer

    • Intro to Storage (Azure, AWS, Google)

    • Intro to Networking (Azure, AWS, Google)

    • Security and Monitoring Basics

    2. Microsoft AZ900 Certification

    • Exam preparation

    • Taking an exam

    Job Readiness: Soft skills through career trainings geared towards preparing you for job applications & interviews, networking events and job fairs.

    You will learn from experts in the industry to start a career in tech.

    • You are interested in learning about and applying Cloud technologies.

    • You are interested in monitoring Cloud applications and mitigating disasters.

    • You can commit at least 10 hours a week (classes + self-study), 80% attendance of the course is required for graduation.

    • You can commit at least 8 hours for career workshops or trainings during the semester.

    • You are able to understand and speak English.

  • Register on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/ and complete the following free course:

    • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals part 1: Describe cloud computing.

    • You have learned about cloud concepts such as High Availability, Scalability, Elasticity, Agility, Fault Tolerance, and Disaster Recovery; You understand the benefits of cloud computing and how it can save you time and money; You can compare and contrast basic strategies for transitioning from on-premise to cloud.

    • You are prepared to take the Microsoft AZ900 Exam and earn your certification and badge of achievement.

    • Career & Soft Skills Workshops, Company Visits

    • ReDI Mentorship Program (mentors in the IT industry)

    • ReDI Talent Pool (job listing platform)

    • SkillBuild Self-paced learning (by IBM & ReDI School)

    • You should expect to spend a minimum of 8 hours for career workshops or trainings during the semester.
